Ivo Saglietti
Ivo was born in Toulon (France) in 1948. He started out working as a film maker, focusing onjournalistic and social theme documentaries. In 1978 he turned to photography and he started
working with Sipa Press Agency.
He completed various photographic essays and journalistic reportage on Salvador, Nicaragua, Cuba, Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, Syria, Chile, Colombia, Haiti, Uganda, Benin, Tanzania, Dominican Republic, France, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania, Nigeria.
He won the World Press Photo in 1992 and 1999, the Photographers in Service for
Freedom and Justice Prize in 1996, a grant from the Italian Photographic Foundation in 2001, the
Enzo Baldoni Award in 2006 and the Taf Prize at Lucca Digitalphotofest in 2006.
His reportage Niger River Delta contributes to the Water Corp. Human Right Or Commodity exhibition, in partnership with Amnesty International.
In 2007 the FotoGrafia Festival of Rome housed Saglietti
