Massimo Sciacca
Massimo was born in Bologna. After graduating he moved to London and became involved indocumentary photography, focusing on social and political topics, and in particulary on youth
culture. Back in Bologna, as a founder of the photo session SquattinBo, he started his long term
project called Subcult. His work took him in former Jugoslavia, Albania, Kurdistan, Cyprus, East
Timor, Hong Kong, Usa, Afghanistan, Philippines, French Polinesia and Australia. He won the
World Press Photo in 1997 and the Italian Fuji Prize in 1999. Between 1998 and 2004 he was
syndicated by Contrasto. In September 2008 he joined prospekt.
